I know not what the future holds...
but I know who holds the future.
Advice from a foal:
* Hit the ground running
* Be frisky
* Take time to play
* Hang out with your Mom
* Feel the wind in your mane
* Be free spirited
* Don't grow up too fast!

My name is Matt Zimmerman and I was raised on a large ranch in Nevada and have been around horses all of my life. Currently I train horses in Adrian, Oregon. I have started three of Perks The Mans offspring in the past two years, and they all have been very athletic and also have a good mind as well. During the training process they accept new things without a huge production and they retain what you introduced to them. These type of horses are a pleasure to work with from a training standpoint because you can do a lot with them in a short time and they are very willing do what you ask of them. These three horses were smooth to ride and I have made the comment that you could easily override them because time passed so quickly while riding them every day. Perks' colts were the ones that I looked forward to riding every day because they always travelled really calm, were predictable, and they were fun to ride. I have ridden plenty of horses and the ones a person really enjoys is one that has a great mind and Perks puts that characteristic in his babies. www.zimmermanhorsetraining.net

~BLESSED ARE THE BROODMARES ~
Blessed are the broodmares in the field,
Patiently carrying their heavy load
Without complaint waiting for the big day,
When they, without a sound, lay down in the straw
And then the most amazing thing happens,
The miracle of a brand new life.
Now the everlasting circle is complete,
The amazing wonder of a living thing.
The foundation stock of every breed,
How fast we all happen to forget,
Where all our champions came from.
How fast we are to discard the blessed ones.
When they get too old or unproductive,
The most tolerant members of every breed,
Raising their young without ever a mumble,
Loyal beyond everyone’s compare.
Till they go on to raise the next one,
When will we finally wake up and see
How enormously grateful we should be
For the blessed ones we so easily forget.
